Hyde Park, VT - At their duly warned January 8th meeting, the Lamoille North Modified Unified Union School District Board unanimously approved a motion to indefinitely postpone the warning and public vote for the Cricket Hill Project. Because of volatile market prices driving up project estimates and continued recovery efforts from this year’s slew of natural disasters that hit our towns, the board has decided not to bring this proposal to Lamoille North voters at this time.
The January 8th, 2024 board decision follows a previous unanimous vote by the board at a special meeting on July, 24th, 2023, to table the Cricket Hill Project for at least six months following the catastrophic flooding that impacted Lamoille North communities earlier that same month.
The design and engineering work done thus far on the Cricket Hill Project will be saved and the district may ultimately return to the project if conditions change.
